What "After staff pay" means

What the client paid, minus what you pay the people who worked it. It is not profit, and it is not take-home.

On a booking, Logidex shows what the client paid, what the staff on that job are paid, and the difference between them. That difference is labelled After staff pay.

What it is

Diagram: what the client paid, split into staff pay and what is left

The money left from that booking once the people who worked it have been paid.

What it is not

It is before everything else your business costs: software, insurance, fuel, advertising, tax, and your own time. It is a margin, not profit and not take-home.

When it shows nothing

If either side is missing, Logidex shows nothing rather than a number.

That is deliberate and worth knowing. If an unpriced booking counted as zero, a job you simply have not invoiced yet would report as a loss — and a job with no staff pay entered would report as though you kept the entire fee. Both are wrong, and the second one flatters you, which is worse.

Fill in both boxes and the figure appears.

Cancelled bookings still count

If you keep a deposit and pay the artist from it, that is an ordinary booking with smaller numbers, and it is counted normally.
