A calendar invite says "event not found"

Someone on your team taps an invite and Google says the event can't be found. Usually the invite was deleted in Google and a newer one replaced it.

Someone on your team opens their invite email, taps to add it to their calendar, and Google says the event can't be found.

Screens use your own word for the people on your roster (set in Customize → Terminology). This article says "staff".

Why it happens

Every invite email points to one event on your Google Calendar. If that event is deleted, the email still sits in their inbox, but it now points to nothing, so Google says it can't be found.

The usual way this happens: the event was deleted in Google Calendar, on your calendar, by you or anyone who can edit it. Logidex notices the next time you open the booking, makes a new invite when you push, and Google emails it to them. They now have two invite emails, and only the newer one works.

What to tell them

Ask them to find the newest invite email for that job and add that one. The older email can be deleted.

If they can't find a newer one, open the booking and check the shift's invite line (below).

Check the booking

Open the booking and look at Service shifts. Under each shift, the invite line tells you where it stands:

  • On Google means the invite exists. Tap Open to see it on your calendar.
  • Missing in Google means the invite was deleted in Google. Press Recreate, or Push all to Google, to make a new one. Google emails it to everyone on that shift.

Once it reads On Google again, the newest email is the one that works.

Avoid it next time

Make staffing changes in Logidex, not by deleting the event in Google:

  • To take someone off a job, remove them from the shift on the booking, then press Update or Push all to Google. Google tells them they were taken off, and nobody else's invite changes.
  • To cancel a whole booking, set its status to Canceled. Logidex offers to cancel its Google invites for you.

Deleting the event in Google takes it away from everyone on it at once, and the next push has to start over with a brand-new invite.
